Our Jewellery

Recycled gold and recycled platinum are precious metals that have been reclaimed from existing fine jewellery and other consumer goods. We use these post-consumer materials as an essential part of our commitment to crafting sustainable jewellery and ethical engagement rings.

By choosing to create our lab grown diamond rings and jewellery with recycled gold & platinum, we actively support a circular economy. This choice avoids the significant environmental and social impact associated with new mining, helping to preserve natural ecosystems and reduce waste. Read more about recycled precious metals in our blog.

The best part is that our recycled gold and recycled platinum are identical in quality and purity to newly mined metals. There is no difference in their chemical composition or durability. This means you get a high-quality, beautiful ring with the added peace of mind that it was made with a lighter footprint.

Yes, lab grown diamonds are 100% real diamond. They are chemically, physically, and optically identical to natural diamonds, sharing the same beautiful sparkle, durability, and brilliance. The only difference is their origin. While natural diamonds form deep within the Earth's mantle over billions of years, lab created diamonds are grown in a perfectly controlled laboratory environment over a few weeks.

At a molecular level, there is no distinction. This means they are independently graded by the IGI using the same globally recognised standards (the 4Cs: Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat) and come with the same certification as natural diamonds. In many cases, our lab diamonds offer exceptional quality that can be difficult to find in natural diamonds. Read more about lab created diamonds in our blog.

Unlike diamond simulants like moissanite or cubic zirconia, lab grown diamonds are the real thing. While simulants may look similar, they have a distinct chemical makeup and do not offer the same brilliance or durability. Our lab created diamonds provide an ethical, sustainable, and more accessible choice without any compromise on quality or beauty. Learn more about the future of lab grown diamonds here.

Every one of our lab grown diamonds are independently graded and certified by the International Gemological Institute (IGI), a globally respected authority in diamond grading. You will receive a physical IGI certificate with your ring, providing a full, standardised guarantee of its quality and authenticity.

We take our commitment to quality one step further. While all our diamonds are selected to the highest standards, including a D-F colour, VVS clarity, and an Ideal to Excellent cut, we go beyond the standard 4Cs. Our diamonds are individually selected for each ring based on lesser-known grading elements such as type IIA CVD, ratio and table & depth percentage. This ensures your piece is set with only the highest quality diamonds, resulting in a truly remarkable sparkle. Learn more about our diamonds here.

Our lab grown diamonds are sourced from a small network of trusted growers worldwide, with partners located in India, Belgium, and America. We take pride in our global network, which allows us to consistently source the highest quality diamonds for our lab grown diamond engagement rings.

Our commitment to ethical sourcing is paramount. As a member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), we ensure all our lab partners are audited and committed to the ethical and sustainable pillars upheld by the RJC. This guarantees that your diamond has been grown with integrity, from its origin to our workshop.

Our jewellery is a collaboration of craftsmanship, with a journey that begins with our artisan partners in India and concludes in our UK workshop. To ensure all of our recycled gold and recycled platinum is fully recycled, our pieces are cast in India. These castings are then returned to our UK workshop where our expert jewellers hand-set our lab grown diamonds and meticulously finish each piece.

We are proud to uphold a culture of craftsmanship that has been passed down through generations. This traditional, hand-finished process ensures every piece is made with the utmost care and attention to detail. All of our partners are audited by the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), guaranteeing that every step of our process is held to the highest ethical and sustainable standards.

The process is simple and we're here to make it as easy as possible. Just get in touch with us and we can walk you through the options. Customising a design can add an additional 2-3 weeks to the production time, depending on the complexity. If you have a completely new design in mind, we also offer a full bespoke service.

Yes, we do. Our bespoke service is the perfect way to create a truly one-of-a-kind custom engagement ring that is as unique as your story. Each bespoke ring design journey is unique and is carefully tailored to you, ensuring we bring your vision to life.

The process begins with a relaxed, obligation-free consultation to discuss your ideas. Once your design requirements are set, we create a CAD design to help you visualise every detail. This is a collaborative stage where we can make any final tweaks to ensure your design is perfect before we begin production. Our years of experience in bespoke design allow us to make the process simple and smooth, with a typical turnaround of 8-12 weeks.

Our bespoke service starts at £2,500. It's an opportunity to create a beautiful piece of bespoke jewellery that is completely unique to you.

Aftercare

All of our jewellery comes with a  lifetime manufacturing warranty against any manufacturing defects. This means we guarantee the craftsmanship of our jewellery for life, and it covers issues such as porosity and setting defects. Find our full warranty here.

Additionally, your order comes with complimentary 1-year Workshop Cover. This provides you with peace of mind that if your ring suffers from accidental damage within the first year, we will repair it free of charge.

Please note that loss of any stones over 0.35ct is not covered under either policy. General wear and tear and accidental damage is not covered by the lifetime manufacturing warranty.

Please note that any alterations or work carried out on your jewellery by another jeweller will void your lifetime warranty and Workshop Cover.

To make a warranty claim, simply get in touch by emailing us at orders@thecornishdiamondco.com. The customer is responsible for shipping costs to our workshop, but if the repair is covered under either your lifetime manufacturing warranty or Workshop Cover, we will not charge for return postage.

We understand that accidents happen. The good news is that we're here to help, and in many cases, your ring may be covered by our policies.

Your order comes with a complimentary 1-year Workshop Cover that protects against accidental damage. If your ring was damaged within the first year, it may be covered under this policy for a free repair. If the damage is a result of a manufacturing defect, this is covered by your lifetime warranty.

To get started, please email our team at orders@thecornishdiamondco.com with a few clear photos of the damage. We will assess the repair and advise you on whether it falls under our warranty or workshop cover. If not, we will still be able to offer a repair service for a fee. We carry out all repairs, not covered by a warranty, on a not-for-profit basis. Meaning that we never charge more than the cost price of repair for our customers.

Our complimentary Workshop Cover provides an extra layer of protection for your new piece of jewellery. It's a 1-year cover that protects against accidental damage to your ring. If your ring is damaged within the first year, we will repair it for you free of charge.

Please note that this cover does not include the loss of any stones over 0.35ct. This is a separate policy from your lifetime manufacturing warranty, which covers against any manufacturing defects.

If you have a damaged ring you would like to have assessed, please get in touch with our team via email at orders@thecornishdiamondco.com.

Proper care is key to ensuring your ring maintains its sparkle for years to come. The most important thing is to avoid wearing it during any physical activities, such as going to the gym, swimming, gardening, or lifting heavy objects. This prevents damage to the band and setting.

For simple at-home cleaning, we recommend soaking your ring in warm soapy water. You can then gently scrub it with a soft-bristled toothbrush to remove any dirt. For jewellery set with softer stones such as emerald or opal, we do not recommend soaking for a prolonged period as these stones can suffer water damage. We advise against using an ultrasonic cleaner for designs with mêlée or small settings, as the vibrations can cause the stones to loosen.

To help protect your ring when you're not wearing it, always store it in its original ring box. We also recommend having your ring professionally inspected annually, ensuring it remains in perfect condition. You can read more in our care guide.

Yes, absolutely. To ensure your ring is the perfect fit, we offer one complimentary resize for all engagement rings within the first six months of purchase.

We can resize rings up to three sizes smaller or larger. The process takes approximately 10-15 working days. To arrange for your ring resizing, simply get in touch with us by emailing orders@thecornishdiamondco.com.
